Destanie+Alec

I had the privilage of photographing this beautiful wedding on October 8th. I have known Destanie since about age 6 and she has always been a fabulous subject in front of my lens. She is one of SIX kids and the only girl, so that means she has FIVE brothers!
Just before her senior year of high school, her father passed away unexpectedly and her beautiful, strong and resilient mother, Rachel Chalker was left to raise these children by herself. I have been so lucky to get to know this family through celebrations, tragedies and have watched them grow into beautiful humans who carry on the legacy their mom and dad have instilled in them.
I felt like part of the family as I watched Destanie walk down the aisle to her soulmate, Alec, as her family stood beside her and her father watched from the heavens above.
My favorite story is the one of the Christian Louboutin shoes. Destanie had always wanted a pair, but if you know about shoes, these are quite pricey. As a surprise, her 5 brothers pitched in to buy her this gorgeous pink pair with the signature red bottoms. They had to take center stage on her wedding day.
It was a beautiful fall day, with a lovely breeze and a gorgeous sunset and moonrise and it was a pleasure to capture these special memories.
