What are the BEST SPOTS for Summer Family Portraits?

 Believe it or not, as of this moment, Summer is half over. That actually makes me sad. I love summer time. It's such a stress free time for my family. Life is slower paced and we get to spend more time just being together. The problem is that is just goes by WAY TOO FAST!

I am often asked what are the best locations to photograph families in the summer. There are several places that are at the top of my list and here they are:

#1 THE BEACH: Of course, the number 1 place is a favorite family vacation spot. While there are many beautiful beaches all over the world, there is a great beach just 2.5 hours away. North Padre Island/Port Aransas is beautiful at sunrise and sunset and a fabulous location for that summer family portrait that you have always wanted.

#2 THE RIVER: The river I go to most often is the Guadalupe, but we have several rivers that are not far from San Antonio. The best time, just like the beach is sunrise or sunset, but the rewards for photographing at that time are plenty. Less crowds and beautiful light, not to mention the heat of the day will not be present during those times.

#3 YOUR HOME: There is no place more special than the place you and your family call home. Your backyard, your front porch, your living room....we can do a little bit of everything. Simply ask for an "In Home Consultation" so I can check out all of your favorite spots. Have a RANCH or some Property or a LAKE HOUSE instead? Let's chat about the possibilities.

#4 FAVORITE VACATION SPOT: You know I LOVE to travel! So I am always game to meet you at the mountains, on an island or in a jungle. The sky is the limit....literally. I have actually photographed from a helicopter before :) Never hesitate to ask about your dream location!

#5 THE PORTRAIT STUDIO: We have air-conditioning inside the studio and it's a great place to put on your After 5 attire! A Formal portrait is beautiful on the walls of a formal living or dining room. Besides, no one dresses up anymore....this is a great excuse to see your family looking their very best!

 What a gorgeous day for a wedding! After a disappointing postponement from their original wedding date, Ashley and Mario couldn't have been more blessed with a beautiful day to get married.

The Hotel Ella is a beautiful, historic, boutique hotel in downtown Austin and was such a great venue for all of the pre and post-wedding portraits and of course the fabulous reception.

Saint Mary Cathedral is a gorgeous church full of history and was the perfect setting to exchange their vows and capture some epic portraits for the bride and groom.

I have known the bride and her family for well over a decade and was so lucky to be able to capture this wedding and witness the love and joy that was evident throughout the day.

We have done Easter Portraits for the past 27 years. Live Bunnies, Chicks, Ducks and a few times we were lucky enough to have a little white lamb....we have done it ALL.

 Last year, our Easter Portraits were cancelled due to Covid. 2020 was year that was tough on so many and gave us the time to really evaluate some of our studio offerings. We have decided to not do an Easter "Special" this year, but instead offer 30 minute Custom Sessions in the studio or on the grounds the entire month of March. Lauren....Cornerstone Christian Schools, Class of 2021!

 Wow! Lauren was just stunning in her gorgeous outfits at these beautiful locations. I have known Lauren since before she was even born. I have photographed Lauren's two siblings and many family portraits throughout the years and it's hard to believe that she is a senior this year!  Lauren is an incredible athlete and will be graduating early to go play volleyball for Baylor University.
