Destination...Destin, Seaside, Sandestin! Awesome things for families to do! {San Antonio Destin Beach Photographer}

We are planning our trip to the Emerald Coast of Florida this summer for the fourth time!
We LOVE this area!!!
We will be photographing families July 30-August 3 in the Seaside area.
Take a look at the portraits of MY family taken two years ago by my friend Bill Ramsey of Canton, Georgia.
I have this collection of images on my wall and I ADORE looking at them each and every day!

We will be photographing Sunrise and Sunset sessions (both of which are stunning).
When we are not photographing, we will be hanging out in this fabulous family vacation spot!

Here are some of our favorite things to do:
1. Crab Island...rent a pontoon boat and sail out to this large sandbar where your kids and swim, paddleboard, dive for hermit crabs and hail down the "ice cream boat"! A fun day!!
2. Seaside...precious little picturesque town! Great for shopping, lunch, bicycling and just enjoying an afternoon stroll by the food trucks or the beach. Check it out here: http://www.seasidefl.com/
3. The Village at Baytown Wharf: Totally toursity but fun for the kids and parents alike. Restaurants, shops, bungee jumping, zip lining and overall fun! http://www.baytownewharf.com/
4. The Old Bay Steamer: Our favorite restaurant in the area. Of course, it is a bit off the beaten path but totally worth it if you want to get away from the tourists and you LOVE CRAB LEGS!!!
5. The Big Kahuna Waterpark: We have never been but it looks like a ton of fun even if it may be a bit overpriced. https://www.bigkahunas.com/
6. Destin Harbor Boardwalk: Something for everyone. This is where you rent the pontoon boats and fishing charters (at the marina) too. Restuarants, shops, trampolines over the water (my boys' personal favorite).
7. The Beach: So many awesome beaches to visit, play in the sand and surf and take a nap in a lounge chair.
8. www.VRBO.com: This is where we always rent our condo. A condo/house is definitely the way to go with a family. Saves money and time so you don't have to eat out all the time!  We have stayed in Sandestin, Santa Rosa Beach, Miramar Beach and Seagrove. All different and fabulous experiences.

We hope you will join us this year!

Dear Blog

Dear Blog,
I am sorry I have neglected you over the past few months! Christmas time is a real blur for me and I just haven't had any time to post anything!
Please forgive me, I will try to be a better blogger.

Here are some highlights of what has gone on the past few months:
I have taken MANY family portraits...I have lost count!

I have taken MANY portraits of children with Santa Claus and MANY portraits of children without Santa Claus.

I have created MANY, MANY Christmas Cards for my clients, all have been AWESOME and will be the talk around the dinner table!

I have been busy booking HOME for the HOLIDAYS! In fact, I have completely booked Dec. 26 and have opened up another day on Dec. 27! I only have 2 appointments left!

I have been busy booking MAUI! Yes, we are definitely going to MAUI June 4-11th 2010 and already have one family booked and 3 that are working out the details.

AND...Trey and I would really like to go to Venice, Italy for a cruise with friends, but the only way we can go is if we book at least one portrait session while we are there. So, all you world travelers, call me ASAP so I can book this trip of a lifetime!

Oh yeah, I also went to Paris. Had a blast and I have AMAZING images, just no time to show you, but I will be showing them off soon!

Trey and I will be going to Nashville for Imaging USA 2010 where we will be a platform speaker. Our program is The Power of Projection, Jan 10, 6-7:30pm. We will also be giving a studio seminar to professional photographers Feb 21-23.

In the middle of that, our nanny resigned and we had to find a new one. Thankfully, we now have a new nanny, Sarah.
So, you see, it has been a busy few months. I am BLESSED to be so busy and to have awesome clients, friends and family who help me with my crazy life.

Just remember, when the craziness gets to you this Christmas Season...
Jesus is the REASON for the Season.
May you all have a Blessed Christmas!

Playa del Carmen Portraits!

Here are some of the images I created of the two families who were in Playa del Carmen with me. We had so much fun on the beach and around the resort. Luckily, a tropical storm passed us by but left us a beautiful rainbow! The Iberostar Resorts ROCK! Trey, the kids and I had a blast the whole week, something we will always cherish!
