The 2020 HOLIDAY SEASON at Artistic Images {San Antonio Portraits with Santa}

ANNOUNCING
The 2020 HOLIDAY SEASON at Artistic Images!

The Covid-19 Situation has given us a challenge with our Santa Portraits that no one could ever dream of. We know our clients come to visit Santa not only for the resulting portraits, but for the EXPERIENCE of talking with the REAL Santa Claus.
Let's be honest, Santa Claus is AWESOME.
No one wants to miss out on a year without Santa Portraits.

We have diligently been working on our themes and ideas for this year. We have sent out surveys (Thank you to those who participated) and listened to your comments. We have formed brainstorming zoom calls with other portrait artists who create portraits with Santa in other cities and states and have come up with some great ideas.

What you will see this year is a product of our LOVE for all things SANTA and our PROMISE to keep our clients as safe as possible during our interactions.

Here are the changes and precautions* for this year:

~We will only have ONE session type this year. It will be a 20 minute session that is booked at 30 minute  intervals. This will give us 10 minutes to sanitize and usher one client out and the other in.

~The foyer area will not be open for "waiting". Please wait in your car and text us when you arrive. We will let you know when it is time to come in.

~Masks must be worn by parents/adults that are attending with the children. Only 2 adults/guest per session please. Masks will not be worn by Santa or the children during the session.

~Elizabeth and staff will be wearing masks during the sessions and washing hands in between sessions. Santa will be washing hands or changing out gloves in between each session.

~Hand Sanitizing is mandatory. A hand sanitizing station will be provided to sanitize prior to your session.

~Santa is an old man. Please do not bring your child to the session if they are sick. Also, please do not allow yourself or another adult to attend if they have any Covid-19 symptoms. We are happy to reschedule if possible or refund your booking fee if your child is sick for his/her session.

~A Social distancing Santa Portrait is virtually impossible. Our indoor scenes would be quite the challenge to make this happen, however there is always the option to do your session without Santa in the scene. If this is your preference, you would need to let us know upon booking. However, there is the chance to do some images with Santa at a good distance (maybe not a full 6 feet though) in our OUTDOOR setting. Again, please let us know your preference so we can plan accordingly.

~Santa will be unable to hold Babies. Your baby will need to either be able to sit in the scene (either alone or in a prop of some kind) or be held by a parent or sibling.

~We have added a 3rd Santa Setting this year in SEPTEMBER. Our thought was to have one option early in the season, just in case their was a surge in cases as Winter approached.

~BOOK NOW. Because of our limitations on sessions per hour, we will book up quickly. Snag your spot and then share with your friends. 210-497-3809

~Viewing your portraits. We value your time and health, but also know that most of you love the advice and insights Elizabeth provides during your order appointment.
You will have TWO options:
In Person Order Appointment, the week following your session. We will take one appointment at a time (of course, since Elizabeth can only do one at a time) with time in between to clean and sanitize. These will take place in our large presentation room with masks worn.
PROS: You can see all of the products we offer in person. You can view the portraits large on our projection screen. CONS: You have to come into the studio and you must wear pants :)

OR

Virtual Order Appointment, the week following your session, via ZOOM or GO TO MEETING from the comfort of your home or office. Both situations allows Elizabeth to take the time needed to assure you are getting exactly what you want. Both situations require an appointment that should take about 1 hour.
PROS: You can wear your pajamas. You can be at your home or office
CONS: You are limited to the size of your computer screen. You can not touch and feel the products in person. Must be done on a laptop or desktop...tablets or phones will not be suitable.

*precautions taken based on CDC recommendations which are subject to change.

With all of that, we now share with you our
2020 Holiday Season Options:

*Please keep in mind these sets are designed for Children.
When adding adults in, sets tend to get crowded and be a posing challenge.
If you are planning on having your family be a part of one of these scenes,
I would recommend The Farmhouse Christmas or The Magical Snowman
as they both have less space limitations.

*Booking Fee: $300 +tax
($50 session fee, $250 credit towards portraits)

*Magical Snowman Booking Fee: $450
($50 session fee, minimum of a 14" portrait ($400)

The 2015 Santa Experience! {San Antonio Santa Portraits}

We are EXCITED to announce
The 2015 Santa Experience
at Artistic Images!
THREE ALL NEW SETS!
Four Dates to Choose From.
We have totally outdone ourselves this year!

Details, Details, Details...
*All Sessions are 20 minutes in length
*Sessions are prepaid when reservation is made
(session fee AND minimum order)
*Extended Sessions are only available during Santa's Polar Express

The Reason for the Season
This very special session will make a beautiful portrait in your home that really celebrates the story of Christmas, the traditions of today and the Birth of Jesus Christ. Bring a family Bible to add a personal touch to this session and bring your children dressed in their Christmas best as they read the story of the very first Christmas with Santa.
Here are a few more images to show some clothing and posing options.
*Session can be done with and without Santa Claus*

Santa and His Reindeer
We have done the IMPOSSIBLE!
We have brought a real, live reindeer to San Antonio to hang out with Santa Claus AND your children! A portion of the proceeds will go to ZOOMAGINATION.
This session has very limited openings and will sell out quickly.
*Due to the nature of live animals, we do not recommend very young children in this session.

**The scene will differ from the above images.
We will be having our red barn, a split rail fence corral for the reindeer and hay to sit on.
It will be a very Merry Tex'mas!**
Santa's Polar Express
Santa's Polar Express is great for all ages!
This very storytelling setting is perfect for portraits, album and of course, Christmas Cards.
We will be booking TWO days for this session which will be VERY Popular!
This session would be adorable dressed in their Christmas best
OR in adorable pajamas just like the movie.

FAQ's
(Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Will I have to wait in line?NO WAY! All of our sessions are by appointment only. If there were an unforeseen circumstance where waiting may occur, you will do so in a comfortable environment where seating is available. While we RARELY

have this happen, there are the occasional times that

waiting 5 minutes may be necessary.

2. Can we have a change of clothes?

While we try to be as accommodating as possible, we do not recommend a clothing change during any of our Collector's Series Sessions. The sessions are only 20 minutes and we want the full time to be used photographing your child.
3. What if my child is afraid of Santa?
If your child is between the ages of 9 months-3 years, the chances are EXTREMELY high that Santa may be a bit "scary" to them. This is normal. We begin every session with images without Santa and introduce him as the session evolves.  There are many times that Santa is in the portrait and the child is unaware of that.  Rest assured, with or without the man in red, we will capture a beautiful image of your child or children in our amazing scene.

4. Can my family join in?
Some of our sets have the capability of having families join in the session and some do not. Typically, our sets are designed specifically for children and tend to look a bit "small" when adults join in. This year, our Reason for the Season may work with a small family of up to 5 people and our Santa's Reindeer session is able to handle families of up to 6 members.
However, our FALL FAMILY SESSIONS are beautiful, non-"Christmasy" sessions that showcase your family in beautiful environments.
Click HERE to find out more info.

5. What type of packages are available?
We have a la carte prints as well as packages that range in price with all kinds of amazing products. In order to get more information about what our packages include, please contact the studio where we will be happy to answer any and all questions. While our specialty is the finished printed product, we do also have a digital package, should you wish to purchase the digital negatives.

Teddy Bears Needed!

We are fresh off our Marketing and Planning meeting for the 2nd half of 2011 and 2012 and are very excited about some
 COOL new ideas!!!
We need YOUR help!

We are looking for about 50 Teddy bears that can be used (borrowed or donated) in a Christmas scene this year. We have to have them by August 1st in order for us to decorate and photograph the set for our Christmas marketing. If you happen to have any teddy bears in any and all sizes in the following colors would you please consider a donation to the scene? We need tan, cream, brown, white, dark red or maroon, dark green, navy blue. We do NOT want any bright or neon colors, pastels or patterned bears.
What a great way to declutter your kids rooms and help to decorate a beautiful scene!

These Teddy Bears can be dropped off at the studio anytime between NOW and AUGUST 1st.
We are open Tuesday-Saturday
Call or email us if you have questions!

Happy Holiday....Problems?

Wow!  The Christmas season has been a busy one for us.  Between all of our Christmas Collector's Series events, Home for the Holidays events at the Missions, Weddings and regular portrait sessions (including hiking 10.6 miles at Lost Maples State Natural Area) there has been no time to update my blog!
With all of these sessions under my belt, the next step is editing and getting them prepared for you, the client, to see. I did a rough estimate and not including the Christmas Collector's Events from Nov.19-28 I took about 7800 images!  That includes two weddings in one weekend, 16 family portrait sessions and 2 high school seniors. Now let me tell you, I am not getting any younger. This spending hours and hours staring and concentrating at the computer screen has NOT been a good thing for my poor eyes.  I have always had great vision, but this year I hit the magic number that caused my eyesight to start failing me. Thank goodness for those auto focus cameras!!
So off I went to my trusty eye doctor (Dr. Diana Gonzales at Vision Source) for her to share with me the bad news.  How bad was it?? Honestly, not too bad. It turns out I just need a stronger prescription for my reading glasses while I am on the computer. I am hoping that this helps take the eye strain away and I can continue my quest to finish the work that still lays ahead of me.
In the midst of all of this, some lovely person has decided to hack my Artistic Images Facebook Page and send out free iphone/ipad links every few hours to all of my fans. Sweet! What is in it for them??? Who knows!  I have changed passwords and emails 3 times to no avail so have had to close it until time allows me to start all over again! Bummer. I still have my personal account under the name Elizabeth Cruger Homan if you would like to "friend" me, I will accept. I am sending updates regularly and I do some special things that are only good for my Facebook Friends.
All in all, the Holiday season has been a fabulous one!  I am blessed to continue to do what I love and love what I do!

Santa Portraits (San Antonio Photographer)

It is hard to believe but it is THAT time again!
CHRISTMAS TIME!!
Artistic Images believes in doing Christmas up BIG and
this year is no exception!

We have 4 Christmas events this year:  2 with Santa Claus and 2 without.

In addition to our brand NEW set designs we have brand NEW packages and products that will have all of your friends supremely jealous (unless you opt to let them know about us too and then they too can share in the Christmas awesomeness)!!
This year our packages even INCLUDE our
brand new ePix....small digital files
so that you can email, put on Facebook or even put them
in your own digital frame.
Exciting stuff here!
We have brand new jewelry, Christmas ornaments and
some adorable little purse Brag Books.

As if that is not enough....we have NEW Christmas Card designs, Incredible Storybooks of your whole session and a fabulous special deal on a beautiful frame to go with your new Holiday Portrait Decor.

I know, I know, I know....it's just too much to handle!
So, let us help you with your selections and offer our suggestions by making a viewing and ordering appointment with one of our Portrait Design Consultants instead of viewing and choosing online.

Either way, you don't have to wait in line at the mall and you will
have your Christmas Portraits done and delivered before some
people even think about putting up their Christmas Tree.

Dear Blog

Dear Blog,
I am sorry I have neglected you over the past few months! Christmas time is a real blur for me and I just haven't had any time to post anything!
Please forgive me, I will try to be a better blogger.

Here are some highlights of what has gone on the past few months:
I have taken MANY family portraits...I have lost count!

I have taken MANY portraits of children with Santa Claus and MANY portraits of children without Santa Claus.

I have created MANY, MANY Christmas Cards for my clients, all have been AWESOME and will be the talk around the dinner table!

I have been busy booking HOME for the HOLIDAYS! In fact, I have completely booked Dec. 26 and have opened up another day on Dec. 27! I only have 2 appointments left!

I have been busy booking MAUI! Yes, we are definitely going to MAUI June 4-11th 2010 and already have one family booked and 3 that are working out the details.

AND...Trey and I would really like to go to Venice, Italy for a cruise with friends, but the only way we can go is if we book at least one portrait session while we are there. So, all you world travelers, call me ASAP so I can book this trip of a lifetime!

Oh yeah, I also went to Paris. Had a blast and I have AMAZING images, just no time to show you, but I will be showing them off soon!

Trey and I will be going to Nashville for Imaging USA 2010 where we will be a platform speaker. Our program is The Power of Projection, Jan 10, 6-7:30pm. We will also be giving a studio seminar to professional photographers Feb 21-23.

In the middle of that, our nanny resigned and we had to find a new one. Thankfully, we now have a new nanny, Sarah.
So, you see, it has been a busy few months. I am BLESSED to be so busy and to have awesome clients, friends and family who help me with my crazy life.

Just remember, when the craziness gets to you this Christmas Season...
Jesus is the REASON for the Season.
May you all have a Blessed Christmas!

Busy busy busy!

Wow, today was absolutely crazy. It seems as if over the weekend, everyone started thinking about Christmas portraits and Cards. Now is the time, if you wait any longer we won't be able to have things ready for Christmas. Our cutoff date is Thanksgiving. If your portraits haven't been taken by Thanksgiving, we probably won't be able to have them ready for Christmas gift giving. Only exceptions are the Wrapped in Red scene on December 5. Those will be ready in time.

Santa's Toy Shoppe was a huge success. The children were adorable in their sweet Christmas clothing. Watching their faces when they saw Santa was priceless. I am such a sap, I nearly cry every time...and I have been doing this for 17 years!! All sessions went so well with the exception of one...MY CHILDREN. Jacob did not want to sit at all in any chair so I had to tie him in. I know, it's mean but that was the only way! Then when he figured he couldn't get out, he fell asleep! Not kidding. He fell asleep on the set, trying to curl up on Jackson's lap. I was sweating, stressed out that I would not get ONE good photo of my three boys. Once Jacob woke up, Jackson decided he didn't want to do it anymore and Josh accidently saw Santa in the window and got a little scared. But we persevered and got some cute images. So, if you think your children are bad, you can remember this story and know that someone always has it worse! Ha ha. Later, looking at the images I had a good laugh.
Take a look at one of these less than perfect Christmas photos! Jacob is mid-yawn!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!!

Santa is going to be here in 3 DAYS!!!!
There is so much to do before the big man in red arrives. We have to
1. Get some hay so the reindeer have some food while they wait for Santa to pose for his many portrait sessions
2. Decorate the Studio so Santa will feel welcome.
3. Get Santa's Toy Shoppe ready for all of the little children to visit.
4. Ask the meteorologist if they could make it a little cooler so Santa doesn't feel too warm in his big red fur coat.
5. Tell all of the children to have their lists ready to give to Santa!

A few words of wisdom for parents of little ones:

1. To little ones, Santa can be a bit scary. He sure doesn't mean to be, but sometimes little ones will LOVE him in a book or at a distance but when it comes to sitting on his lap, they may be a little frightened. Do not worry, we have done this before and we have a great system to create amazing Christmas images. The best thing you can do is not to overwhelm your child with too much talk about Santa before your visit to us. Bring your sweet child with their beautiful Christmas attire to us and let us do the rest.
2. Bring your video camera if you wish. Watching the story of Santa Portraits unfold is sometimes a magical thing. If you wish to video tape the event quietly, that is fine with us. But please leave your still camera at home.
3. Have your children bring a list of their top 3 wishes for Santa to bring to them. Have them write big so we can use it in the photograph and will be able to see what they wrote.
4. Don't coach them too much about smiling, let us entertain them and get those true expressions!
