Fall Family Portraits at the Guadalupe River {San Antonio Family Photographer}

 Fall in Texas is sometimes only a minute long. Am I right?

Although we rarely get bright orange and yellow leaves like other areas of the country, the most likely of places is either Lost Maples State Park or Guadalupe River State Park. I love going to Lost Maples, but it is a good 1.5 hours away from San Antonio and a pretty good hike to some really cool spots. If you are interested in a session there, please email me.

Much closer to SA, is the Guadalupe River State Park and is one of my favorite locations to photograph. So many beautiful and natural backgrounds to choose from. If you are interested in joining us for our FALL FAMILY DAY on the week of Thanksgiving, we will be there on Tuesday, November 24th. Currently I have morning and early afternoon times available.

 Fall is just around the corner!

Thank goodness....I thought I might melt from the unrelenting heat of San Antonio Summers. 

Fall for me means Family Portraits and I literally CAN NOT WAIT to see you guys this year!

Covid has left our studio a little lonely in 2020. We miss seeing our clients that we think of as friends. Many of you have halted your plans to have portraits and I am here to say, let's get back to LIFE! With the hope of some sense of normalcy, we plan to be busy capturing memories in the form of portraits for many of you. And we have already begun booking sessions!

Last year, we visited a "new-to-me" location...Cibolo Nature Center. We discovered some beautiful spots that are totally portrait worthy, so we are heading back there again this Fall. 

As usual, you can always book a session anytime, any day and any location with your family. But once or twice a year I have these Family Portrait Events where I do back to back sessions at the same location (and I even give you a break on the price). This blog post is devoted to our Fall Family Day.

This event is happening on a SUNDAY!! My normal Sunday sessions are $550 and that just pays for the session! Fall Family Day is on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18th and the session fee is only $200! I know....crazy good deal happening!

I will book 6 sessions. SIX SESSIONS only. 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.

6 Tips to Booking your Fall Portraits with Artistic Images

Fall is the Season for Family Portraits

Cooler temperatures make for more pleasant outdoor portrait session because none of us want to be a sweaty mess in our family photos. However, I am only ONE person and can only accommodate so many sessions during the month of November (our busiest month every year).

Here are my tips for you during this 2020 Fall Portrait Season:

1. BOOK IN ADVANCE: Whether you want your session in September, October, November or even December. Book it NOW. Times will fill up and you don't want to miss out.

2. BOOK EARLY: This year we have an added stressor...COVID-19. We don't know what will happen as the weather gets colder. Book your session in August or September at the cooler times (Sunrise is best, Sunset is 2nd best) and check "family portrait" off your to-do list before any of your friends even start thinking about it.

3. LOOK AT OUR PORTRAIT EVENTS: We have several every fall at different locations, so check out the options at the bottom of this post and save yourself a little bit of money on your session fee. 

4. DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT: Our Luxe Collection is growing in popularity and is a fabulous addition to your wall decor. Dress up in formals and tuxes and WOW everyone with your sophistication and style. These portraits are created INDOORS and are perfect no matter what the weather is doing.

5. HAVE YOUR  PORTRAITS DONE AT HOME: Where have you been spending all of your time this year? What a great memory of this year, to capture your family at home. Either inside or outside...or both!

6. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX: Your Ranch, the Lake, with your Airplane or your Favorite Car, hiking at Enchanted Rock or in the Vineyards of Fredericksburg... I love to do things differently and would embrace your ideas!

How to Have a Relaxing Family Portrait Session

Fall is HERE and so is family portrait season! The weather is finally cooling down, the kiddos are getting settled back in school, and it is time to hang some beautiful new portraits on your wall!

Here are some helpful steps to help making your family portrait session experience a relaxing one.   Scheduling your portrait session with us is the first step to achieving this goal. Fall dates on our calendar go FAST, so make sure to book your session now!

•      Choose the location for your portraits. Would you like beautiful greenery as your backdrop? Gorgeous architecture? Classy studio portraits? Elizabeth will work with you to choose the best, most beautiful scenery for your portrait session.
•      Choose where you would like to hang your portraits on your wall. This will help make the ordering process much easier, and help you to have a goal in mind so you can fill up the space with your beautiful work of art.
•      Pick out your family’s clothes for the session, in advance! Getting everyone in coordinating colors at the last minute adds lots of stress to your day, and will take away from the fun experience. Select the pieces for every member of your family before the session, to make for a peaceful getting ready experience.
•      On the day of the session, start getting ready in advance. Leave plenty of time to fix stray hairs, touch up makeup, and make sure everyone has the right shoes on. Once everyone is looking absolutely perfect, head to your portrait location early. Arriving to your session 5-10 minutes early will allow you to get everyone out of the car, to meet Elizabeth, and get started right on schedule.
•      Enjoy this wonderful experience with your family. Soak in this time during your portrait session. The people you love most are all in one place, dressed up, and smiling. These memories will last a lifetime; make sure you do everything in your power to make the best memories and pieces of art that you can.

2016 Fall Family Events {San Antonio Family Portrait Specialist}

October is the beginning of our busiest season.

Between October and December, I will photograph over 50 family portrait sessions! Since there are only 12 weekends during those two months, it is impossible for me to photograph every family on a weekend, right??

Every year we run a Fall Family Day Special Event at a chosen location. The session last 45-60 minutes and is always a favorite option for those wanting to update that family portrait over their fireplace or create fabulous Christmas Cards...or both!

These sessions are on a Saturday in October and ALWAYS SELL OUT! So book ASAP if you think this is perfect for your family. Oh, and by the way, Saturday sessions are usually a $450 session fee. This event is specially priced at $100 session fee and a $200 minimum portrait order.
I KNOW....it's almost unbelievable!
