If you have been a client of Artistic Images within the past 2 years,

it is complimentary!

If not, we are asking for a $25 donation to the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation (this is my son Jacob's disorder). You can either bring a check that evening or go online to http://www.pmsf.org/ to donate and bring a copy of your reciept.

The Fine Print

Technically, you don't have to be a mom or dad to take this class. You can be anyone who just wants to learn how to take better snapshots.  This class is NOT intended for anyone who wants to be a professional photographer as we will not cover professional level photography.  If you want a professional level class please sign up for my Texas School class at http://www.texasschool.org/

Lost Maples/Enchanted Rock (San Antonio Family Portrait Photographer)

Lost Maples

 is an extremely beautiful park with miles of hiking trails. Each trail leads to different areas like caves, lakes, streams and "wheat" fields. Since San Antonio doesn't have many types of trees that turn color in the fall, this is the place to be for Fall Family Portraits. Currently, I am looking at possible dates for an excursion to Lost Maples. It is about a 1 1/2 hour drive so it is not a place I frequent. I would love to take 4 families (or other types of sessions) with me when I go. I already have ONE commited and TWO interested which means I might only have one spot left. I will warn you: there is quite a bit of walking involved. In fact, the cave area is super cool but is about a mile or two trek down the trail. I might suggest no high heels!

Enchanted Rock

 is a beautiful location of giant rocks and rock formations.

I have only been there once to photograph and it was a Maternity session.  So even though that is all I have to show, you can imagine that families would look fabulous in this location as well.

Maddie...Senior 2011!

Ok, Ok...I know she is gorgeous and I could never take a bad photo of this beautiful high school senior, but I LOVE her photos.  She is so adorable in the simplest of outfits.  She has an amazing smile but also a captivating serious look.  Maddie was so easy to work with too!  She makes every pose look so natural...totally making me look good!  Thanks Maddie, for choosing Artistic Images!!

More Amazing Seniors!

The 2011 Class of High School Seniors is off to an amazing start!  We are photographing seniors from schools all over the San Antonio area.  Here are three beautiful Senior Girls that had their portraits made on the grounds of our 2 1/2 acre portrait garden.

Humbled by Generosity

I want to tell you that this week I have a lot to be thankful for.  I have an amazing husband who has had to rearrange his life to take care of the kids since our nanny quit with no notice over the weekend.  I have an amazing sister, Ali, who has stepped in to watch our children so my hubby and I can go in to the studio and try to accomplish something.  I have parents who will do anything they can to help (like make the homemade frosting for Joshua's birthday cupcakes). A brother and sister in law who have helped to entertain by taking my kids to the Zoo and Six Flags! I have a business that is thriving despite a "weak" economy and wonderful clients to work with that make my job soooo much fun. I have 3 beautiful sons (one of whom is going to be 5 on Saturday).  And I have some of the most amazing friends that a girl could ask for.
I recently returned from a trip to South Carolina for the Phelan McDemid Syndrome Foundation conference (now known as PMSF).  We were all inspired by the research that is happening in the field of genetics.  Specifically the Shank 3 gene which has been discovered that our PMS children and many children with autism are missing. So much more research needs to be done but it all costs money. That is why the foundation has come up with the $22 for 22q in 22 days.  This fundraiser started August 1st and will go until the 22nd of this month.
I posted this to my facebook page and within minutes I had friends, aquaintences, clients & peers posting the info onto their page and going to http://www.pmsf.org/ and donating.
What was even more amazing was that several of my photographer friends actually took it a step further. For everyone who donated $$ and brought the receipt to their studio, they are giving their clients DOUBLE the amount they donate as CREDIT to their studio!  Isn't that Amazing???
Words can not express the gratitude I feel towards everyone who is helping these beautiful children.  The least I can say is THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart....And keep it going!!!

NEW PROPS 2010!

Hey there,

Check out some of my new props for 2010!  I plan to use some of these for the children and baby contest as well as hip seniors, fun families and chic kids!  See something you like?  Let me know and we can use it for YOUR session!  The theme for this year's new props is COLOR!  I am having lots of fun shopping around for these new props and there is even MORE to come!  You wont believe the new cool scene we are creating outside on our grounds.  Let me know what you think!
